What is shakta.ca?

This website is a growing effort to host digital learning resources for various spiritual traditions (especially Śākta), as well as a communal hub for its curator, Yam.

The word Śākta literally means “‘[Devotee] of Śakti”, In Sanskrit.

Who is Śakti?

Coming from the root √śak “to be able” + the feminine suffix -ti, Śakti is Universe’s Creating, Sustaining, and Dissolving Ability, as a Goddess.

Who is Yam?

Hi! On most socials, I go by YamShakta, from Yam (my name; short for Lyam), and Śākta. I like to livestream & make videos on inclusive spirituality, with particular inspiration from ancient yogic philosophy.
